How early should I place an order?

Wedding Cakes/Mini Cake Favours/Custom Cakes/Custom Cookies: as soon as you know you'd like to work with me. I take a limited amount of wedding, custom cake and cookie orders per weekend and some weekends book up far in advance. Wedding cakes - I would recommend 6 to 8 months prior to your wedding date. For weddings taking place during high wedding season (June to October) - I would recommend 8 - 10 months in advance. Custom cakes and cookies - I would recommend 4 - 8 weeks.

Cupcakes/Celebration/Birthday Cake: for mini and regular cupcakes as well as simple round, square and slab cakes - I need at least 72 hours notice (3 days). Between the high wedding season months of June to October you're best to place orders one week in advance.

How much wedding cake should I order:

On average I recommend you have enough wedding cake for 50% of your guests. That doesn't mean you'll end up with a teeny tiny cake. We would incorporate fake tiers in order to get the overall desired look you want. You'll save money and you'll spare yourselves from watching your cake get tossed in the garbage at the end of the night. Depending on the amount of food you're serving throughout the reception and whether you've having a plated dessert, late night sweet table or even a candy buffet - I may recommend less or even more than 50% There's many factors to take into considering and we'll discuss them all at our consultation.

Do you offer consultations/tastings?

Yes, I offer one complimentary consultation/tasting prior to booking with me for large custom cake orders over $250.00 and for all wedding cake orders. For further consultations - you would need to book my services with a deposit.

What are my prices?

Cakes Pricing:

Wedding and Custom cakes are priced per serving. The cost per serving is based on three key components:
  1. Flavour - the cost of the ingredients required for the specific flavour
  2. Design - the complexity of the desired finished look
  3. Height - how many cake and filling layers are needed to achieve the height per tier

Celebration/Birthday Cakes pricing:
Have set prices based on size of cake and flavour selection. Messages applied to the cakes surface with coloured icing are free of charge

Cupcake Pricing

  • Minis start at $1.25 each - minimum order is two dozen
  • Regular start at $2.50 each - minimum order is a one dozen
Cupcake cost can increase if you are wanting to add a design to the surface and/or requesting a cream or ganache filled center.

Special Packaging available for regular sized cupcakes:
Clear 4"X4"X4" boxes w/cardboard cupcake inserts to hold the cake in place inside the box are available at a cost of $1.50 + tax

Cookie Pricing:

Custom cookie cutter cookies will vary in cost by the design and size. There's an added cost of $1.00 if you would like them in individual clear bags and tied with a ribbon bow

Sandwich cookies are priced based on size:

  • minis (1.5" in diameter) $1.25 each
  • large (3" in diameter) $2.50 each

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, there's a 50% non refundable deposit required when placing orders over $200 due to supplies needing to be purchased ahead of time to fulfill orders. Any sugar work that is required for the design of your cake would be started in advance in order for it to set and fully harden.

Wedding Cakes: there's a $100 non refundable deposit for all wedding cakes. That reserves your date in my work calendar to where I would then be able to turn away other potential business.

Do you offer delivery?

Yes. I highly recommend delivery for all wedding cakes of 3 tiers or more and for all tall 3D custom cakes.

Delivery cost is based on the destination in relation to my office in Mississauga.

  • Under 20km - $30
  • Under 40km - $50
  • Under 60km - $65

For destinations over 60km please contact me.

What method of payment do you accept?

I accept: cash, cheque (due 5 business days before the order date), email money transfer through your online banking.

Do you rent cupcake stands?

The stands that I own are available for my clients who have placed orders only. I allow my clients to use them for a $25 fee which covers the cleaning and sanitizing of the stand when it's returned. There's a deposit that would be returned to the client upon the safe return of the stand.

Do you rent cake stands?

I do not rent cake stands and I do not have any on hand for client use. Decor companies often have cake stands for rent OR stands can be purchased online, from home goods stores, and check listings for brides looking to sell a used stand.

What Cookie Cutter Shapes do you offer?

Currently I have a limited variety of cookie cutters but am always looking for reasons to add to my inventory. If there's a specific shape you want - I can source it for you and give you options. You would not be responsible for purchasing the cookie cutter as it would remain in my inventory for future use with future clients.

What if I have allergy restrictions?

Food allergies are not to be taken lightly. Coming from a family with food allergies - I'm very aware of how serious they can be. My kitchen is not Nut-free, Dairy-free or Gluten-free. If there's an allergy concern I cannot give you a 100% guarantee but I can ensure you that I will take every precaution to avoid cross contamination by not using any products with the disclaimer 'may contain...' simultaneously and to thoroughly sanitize my work area and stainless steel work tables. My Gluten-Free baking would be done first in the morning before flour is circulated in the air.
